The Ferraristi, who remained unconvinced that the Bertone-designed 308 GT4 2+2 was a true successor to the gorgeous Dino 246, had their prayers answered when the Ferrari 308 GTB was unveiled at the Paris Show in 1975. Ferrari returned to Pininfarina for the 308 GTB’s styling, and this two-seat, mid-engine coupe sat on a chassis with a wheelbase eight inches shorter than the GT4 upon which it was based. Production started with the GTB Berlinetta in 1976, with the 308 GTS Targa variant being introduced in 1977. The first 712 308s Ferrari built wore fiberglass bodies before the company switched to steel. In all, just over 12,000 308s were produced from 1976 to 1985.
Clocking in at only 11,654k miles, this 1981 Ferrari 308 GTS is new by any standard and ready to be enjoyed!
Finished in the highly desirable Rosso Corsa Red over tan Connolly leather, this GTS represents the perfect fusion of performance and luxury. Equipped with power windows, a power driver-side mirror, a heated rear window, an arctic-cold A/C, and a quartz clock, comfort is never compromised. As far as performance goes, this is one capable Ferrari… with 214hp on tap, this 2.9L V8 mated to a 5-speed manual transmission promises nothing but endless thrills. With its light engine and limited slip differential, this car will quickly hug corners. Ferrari stayed true to form with this iconic model, partnering with the famed design house Pininfarina. From its pop-up headlights to its Targa top, this gorgeous 2-seater is just as fun to look at as it is to drive.
Sealing its position as one of the most iconic sports cars of the 1980s, the Ferrari 308 GTS is not only fun to drive, but it’s an excellent investment. The only thing missing is you as its new owner.
